  • Amy is an Assistant Professor in the Physical Therapy Program and a Center of Teaching Excellence Faculty Liaison at the University of Findlay.  Amy has been practicing as a school-based PT for over 18 years, promoting physical activity embedded into academics and interprofessional collaboration, while closely working with educators, administrators, therapists, and parents. She received an Academic Excellence Award from University of Indianapolis in 2010 and was nominated for the Cincinnati Business Courier’s Future Business Leaders 40 Under 40 in 2015. Her research on pediatric health promotion was published in Pediatric Physical Therapy. Amy also published, “Recycle Bin Boogie: Move and Learn with Recyclables,” a physical activity book combining academic concepts with common household recyclables. She has presented regionally and nationally on a variety of topics related to pediatric health promotion, active learning, school-based therapy, and special education.

Agenda

0-5 minutes:  Background, review of learner outcomes 

5-25 minutes:  Benefits of physical activity, general exercise principles for children and adolescents, and the link between physical activity and learning (including recent research). 

25-115 minutes:  Creative physical activities combined with academic concepts and recyclables into a variety of settings including schools and the home environment 

115-120 minutes:  Summary, Q&A 

Course Learning Outcomes

1) Describe at least three evidence-based benefits of physical activity for children and adolescents.

2) List at least three general exercise principles for children and adolescents.

3) Explain the link between physical activity and learning (including recent research) for children and adolescents.

4) Identify at least three creative physical activities combined with academic concepts and recyclables into telehealth sessions.  

Instructional Methods

Live Webinars include presenter and participant interaction. Multimedia formats are used during instruction including a live video feed of instructor, PowerPoint, supplemental videos, interactive polls, and/or chat discussion.


On-demand courses include video and audio recordings of live webinars with multimedia formats described above.

Assessment of Learning Outcomes

Learner outcomes are assessed through the CE post-test for live, on-demand, and self-paced learning modules. Post-test questions are based on learning outcomes listed in the course descriptions. 

Course Completion Requirements

1. Record of attendance (recorded automatically by webinar system).

2. Verification of learner identity (attestation statement on post-test).

3. Successful completion of the post-test (≥ 70%)

4. Completion of CE Course Evaluation with brief reflection on application of knowledge.

Cancellation Policy

Policy and Procedures for Activity Cancellation by TelehealthShare

Live webinar trainings may be canceled by TelehealthShare LLC if no more than 5 registrations have been received 24 hours prior to the training or when a speaker emergency arises. Refund for the full amount paid will be credited to accounts within 24 hours of cancellation. Learners will be notified by email before the training start time. Learners must reply to verify receipt of the email notifications.


Policy and Procedures for Activity Cancellation by the Learner

Learners may cancel their registration up until the start time of the training. Refunds will be issued following the guidelines outlined for TelehealthShare cancellations listed above.

Refund Policy

Full refunds will be given for participants who experience technical difficulties or express dissatisfaction with the course at any time prior to completion of the post-test. Refund requests can be emailed to webinars@telehealthshare.com.
